Cempasúchil Box is a hand-finished fall arrangement of orange pompom mums, orange and pink dahlias, lavender and plum roses, and deep purple lisianthus in a white hat box with a satin ribbon handle, delivered across the Inland Empire. Orange and purple together is the palette of the ofrenda, and this is the box we make for it.
Round orange mums and open dahlias sit between lavender roses and ruffled purple lisianthus, with sprigs of purple statice and variegated greenery feathering out past the rim. The dome is wide and full, built to be seen from across a room. The white box with its satin handle keeps it ready to carry: into a home, onto an altar, or to the cemetery.
Roughly 15 orange pompom mums, 8 orange and pink dahlias, 12 lavender and plum roses, 10 purple lisianthus, purple statice, and variegated foliage, placed by hand in our Fontana studio. Your box will carry the same form with its own natural variation. For Día de los Muertos orders we add fresh cempasúchil marigolds to the mix while they are in season.
Who it's for: the ofrenda for Día de los Muertos, a remembrance delivery to a parent's or grandparent's home, a graveside visit, a fall birthday for someone who loves color, a Thanksgiving table that isn't rust and brown, or a thank-you to the family that hosts every year. It arrives ready to display; no vase needed.
How long will it last? Keep the box cool and out of direct sun and add fresh water every other day. Roses and dahlias hold about a week; mums, lisianthus, and statice often last two, so the orange and purple stay long after the roses soften.
